Mike Jensen Wins XDL Round 4, the Battle at Barber with MotoAmerica.
With the Championship Battle hanging in the balance the XDL Championship Series headed to Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, AL for the final round of the 2017 season. Marcin Glowacki from Poland had been dominating through the first three rounds, winning twice and claiming a majority share of the bonus points. Kyle Sliger put on a great performance in Sonoma, CA winning the XDL Pro Freestyle event and multiple side event wins. Bill Dixon was always within striking distance of taking a win all season long and suffered a disappointing bike malfunction during the battle round Pittsburgh.
But it would be Mike Jensen from Denmark who would shake up the final round in his XDL debut. Jensen rode solid all day on a borrowed Honda F4i as he stay in the top 4 through qualifying and the first round. In the first battle round against Kyle Sliger, Jensen came out and laid down a very fast and fluid run with a handful of tricks he was holding back during qualifying and the first round. After beating Sliger in a majority decision in the Battle Round, Jensen set his sights on his first XDL win and beating the former and Four Time XDL Champion Bill Dixon. Jensen kept up the pace while Dixon made a couple mistakes in his run and ended up falling to the Danish rider.
Marcin would go on to face Kyle Sliger in the 3rd place round. Marcin came out with one of the fastest and aggressive runs we had seen out of him for the 2017 season to take down Sliger and take home the 3rd place trophy.
