Marcin Glowacki wins 2017 XDL Championship Series
After a 5 year Hiatus from competition, XDL returned to competition mode along side the Street Bike Freestyle Championship aka SBFC and MotoAmerica for a four round competition series in 2017. 2012 XDL Rookie of the Year Kyle Sliger and Four Time XDL Champion Bill Dixon eagerly awaited the arrival of international competitors like Marcin Glowacki, Ogawa Hiroyuki, Dai Yabiku, Mike Jensen and more to see who would take home the top honors for the 2017 XDL Season.
It would be Marcin Glowacki from Poland who would ruin Bill Dixon’s plan of 5 XDL Championship Trophies. Marcin all but dominated the season winning two of four events and winning all but two of the available bonus points. A crash in Round Two in Sonoma, CA was scary enough to rattle the Polish competitor but he healed up, kept his composure and came back to beat Kyle Sliger in Round 3 in what may have been the closest final in XDL history.
We will be following up with Marcin in the next couple of days for an interview with the Polish Champ to get his thoughts on the season and what it feels like being a XDL Champion.
Here’s to you Marcin, hope you are on a beach somewhere enjoying a cocktail and celebrating!
